Toast to the Teachers
by Josh W.

Good evening.

As we gather together tonight to reflect on what we have accomplished, one must also stop and think about those who helped us reach this point in our lives.

Numerous people have to be thanked for our successes tonight; parents, siblings, friends, grandparents; the list is almost endless. However, if it had not been for the teaching staff of Worsley School, none of us would be here tonight.

This dedicated group of professionals has spent countless hours with us teaching, lecturing, helping, and sometimes even parenting. Though at times we did not always get along, all the teachers and staff of Worsley School have always been willing to go beyond what is expected of them. Every teacher here has always been willing to give extra help to students who were struggling and for that we must give much thanks.

Mr. Willis could always be counted on for giving a little unwanted help as well - such as "helping" by taking embarrassing photos of us when we were not expecting it. He even went out of his way to teach me how to work with graphics and photographs, as evidenced by the photo I created of myself at the right. Am I embarrassed? Of course not!

Seriously Mr. Willis is one example of the teachers who have touched our lives. Every staff member will be remembered in some special way by each of us - when Mrs. Jane turned off the lights, we all knew to put our heads down ... when Mrs. Shilka looked extremely happy, we knew a test was on the way ... and when Reg looked grumpy we knew Christmas was almost here!

It would be impossible to list all of the memories I have of the staff of Worsley School tonight, but I do wish to stress that all teachers and staff have touched our lives in some way and for this, we will always be appreciative.

Please rise and join with me in toasting the teaching staff of Worsley School. To the teachers; may you continue to touch the lives of others, as you have touched our lives.
