During Education Week our school held an Open House on April 29. As part of the schedule of activities, we invited Mrs. Jennifer Winter from Dunvegan to visit our Grades 3/4 and 5/6 classes to demonstrate her origami techniques, display some of her work, and assist our students in learning more about the art of paper folding. Mrs. Winter told us that her folded eagle took five or six hours to create, after several failed attempts. She also showed us her paper roses, which take about three hours each, including painting. She led the students in each class through the creation of different objects, including a fortune teller, a fancy box, a small butterfly, a clicker, and 'cluster planes' which come apart after launching. Students enjoyed this presentation very much.
