As close of term comes to Worsley School
And springtime hits the air,
There is a fever felt within
That is beyond compare.
Graduation nears and with its lure
Excitement hits the halls,
As each prepares in his own sweet way
For the celebration ball.
Each senior class is different,
Placing us to the test,
With each student being quite unique;
Each on a personal quest.
These graduates are original,
In all they say and do,
And so I offer this perspective
For every one of you:
David Friesen's certainly one of a kind,
As his schooling he completes;
This year he's been on home schooling,
Which is no easy feat.
David's always led an active life,
'Till his accident laid him low,
But he's coming back with new dreams now
And I'm sure that he will grow.
David's plans aren't yet set, so
It's anybody's guess;
But I am confident and sure
That he will have success.
All the clubs that Eyvind Hagen's in
Make him a busy lad.
With sports and music, Student Council,
Ski Patrol, and SADD.
Yet Eyvind still has time for school
And works real hard, it's true.
He never shirks responsibility
He does what he must do.
Business Management calls to him;
Augustana's where he'll be,
Leaving home and friends profuse,
Seeking opportunity.
Isaac Giesbrecht is a quiet lad,
Reading to pass the days,
But he enjoys his sports as well
And visiting always.
He plays basketball each year
And volleyball, it's true,
And his unassuming nature
Has always seen him through.
Isaac is planning for NAIT next year,
Autobody is the field,
Apprenticing and working too.
It seems his fate is sealed.
Jessica Stevenson's a powerhouse gal,
Active in everything,
To Student Council, SADD and sports
Her passion she does bring.
Her outgoing ways and ready wit
Brighten up her classmates' days,
For we're never sure just what she'll do
Or the image she'll portray.
Now Jess is planning to be a teacher;
This career goal she has set,
As Augustana waits for her,
She'll be a force, I'll bet!
Joann Parliament enjoys her world,
Though busy it can be;
Student Council fills her days
On that we all agree.
Volleyball too, is the sport
That she plays with full zest,
And 4-H after school with her
Puts her to the test.
Next year will bring quite a change
A geriatrics course in the fall,
At Red Deer College you will find,
That Nursing is her call.
Jordan Lee is one of a kind,
Basketball his sport of choice,
But video games and paint-balling ...
In those he does rejoice.
He loves to read and debate as well,
Studious he can be,
For Jordan's ready knowledge
Let's his mind go running free.
Jordan's off to NAIT next year;
Geology's the course for him.
With resolve and full tenacity
He's filled up to the brim.
J.R. Jensen's a different sort,
Basketball's his claim to fame.
With sports his general interest
He's ready for the game.
He's wild and reckless, but quiet too,
With friends he spends his time,
With his determined steadfast nature
He's ready for the climb.
Justin likes the hands-on approach
So apprenticeship's his design;
Fairview College calls him forth
Mechanics is where he'll shine.
Mark Fehr is also a unique young man
Of quiet nature blessed.
He joined our school in Grade 10;
His time he did invest.
He also enjoys the sporting games
And quadding with his friends;
His school life, home life and his roles;
He does a perfect blend.
Mark plans on working next, it's true,
As employment is his aim;
I'm sure that whatever he decides to do,
He'll set his world aflame.
Scott Jensen's an easy-going lad
And works hard here at school,
His quiet steadfast nature
Makes him nobody's fool.
Basketball's his one first love
On the court he feels he's king,
But outside of school he still enjoys
To read and go quadding.
Next year's plans for Scott include
Apprenticeship, of course;
An autobody technician, and
Being part of the working force.
Stan Newton joined the Worsley School
In Grade 10 he came to us
With strong convictions and beliefs
He created quite a fuss.
Stan loves hunting and the out of doors,
But music claims his heart;
Track and field, ski patrol and band,
In these he takes a part.
Stan says his main ambition's
To be a welder through and through,
And knowing his strong character,
I'm sure that's what he'll do.
Vicky Turner is an active girl,
Who takes part in each school affair
Volleyball, basketball, and Student Council,
And the SADD team, find her there.
She's popular, hard working and joyful,
Surrounded by friends galore,
Enjoying snowboarding and horses,
Anything out-of-doors.
Vicky next year can be found
At the Grande Prairie College space,
Where I'm sure she'll fit right in
To College life's embrace.
And that concludes the Grads this year,
I hope you liked the show,
And learned a little about each one,
But before I'm bound to go,
I'd like to offer each of them
A bit of scholarly word;
It's my last chance to give to them
Advice that I have heard.
Aim for a star! Never be satisfied
With a life that's less than best.
Failure lies in not having tried
And keeping the soul suppressed.
Aim for star! Look up and away
And follow its beckoning beam.
Make each Tomorrow better than Today
And don't be afraid to dream.
Aim for a star! And keep your sights high!
With a heartfelt faith within,
Your feet on the ground, and your eyes on the stars,
Some day you'll be bound to win!
