The math Pre-10 class practiced trigonometry calculations outside by determining the height of the gym wall and the internet tower.

The method for calculating the height of the tower involved measuring angle 'theta', which was done using a clinometer.

Students also measured distance 'd' to the base of the tower. Side 'x' was then solved for using the fraction for tan theta (opposite over adjacent) and a calculator.

Finally, students had to add the height of the instrument 'y' in order to obtain the true height of the tower.
The height of the gym wall was obtained in a similar way. These calculations were a review of material learned in grade 9.
