Worsley School's Student Council has started off with a bang for the 2003-2004 school year. Members this year include Jenna, Kelsey, Renessa, Emily, Melanie, Michelle, Shelaine, Holly, Brook, Janine, Landon, Brittany, Shay, Vicky, as well as Secretary Joann, Vice President Eyvind and President Jessica. Staff advisors are Kenda Jobson and Mr. Schoffer.
This year's group is very energetic and willing. So far, the Student Council has put on a Spirit Week, including a volleyball Pep Rally, for junior and senior teams. They have also held an 'Inner You' Day, where students and staff wore their clothes inside out and taped an answered questionnaire to their chest to reveal what's on the inside. The questionnaire included questions like 'what's your favourite colour? What do you want to be when you grow up? What's your middle name?' You wouldn't believe some of the middle names parents inflict upon their children!

For fund raising, the Student Council held 'Stop the Madness' week. All week, very poor yodelling music was played over the intercom, and only donations to the money pail could end the torture. Currently, the Student Council is hosting 'All Request Thursdays', where you can have your favourite song played and dedicated over the intercom, for only one dollar. The next dress up day will be November's 'Wild Wild Western Day', so start shining your boots.
The Student Council has big plans for the future, including an upcoming dance and a Talent Show after Christmas. The promise of an audience has left several students with guitar in hand, singing in the hallways. Next year, we probably won't tell anyone until the week before. (Just kidding, it sounds great!)
With a whole year ahead, the Student Council is eager to get involved and help the winter months go by faster.
