  
We had a rubber spider suspended from the ceiling for Hallowe'en, and somehow it never got taken down. It wasn't long before we noticed that every time the spider was lowered, it scared Trena. We decided to make a Guinness Book of World Records attempt for 'the most number of days in a row a person can be scared by a rubber spider'. Every day, just before 9am, the spider was lowered. Every day Trena jumped and screamed. (Apparently her short term memory doesn't function too well early in the morning). We made it to 14 days before she remembered 'It's just rubber!'; after that we couldn't fool her any more. The Guinness Book people told us that we weren't even close to a world record; a farmer in Texas was scared for 363 days in a row by a plastic Elvis head he had previously placed on his dashboard and subsequently forgotten about.
