When these ponies are born, they look fluffy, almost like a teddy bear, unlike horse foals, which are smooth-skinned. Like horses, it only takes a Shetland pony foal a day or less to learn how to walk, whereas humans take a year or two to learn. Shetland ponies can have many different markings.
