Baylee Grandparents are special people. They are a significant part of our lives. Some of our fondest memories are because of them. I remember: - always having a captive audience - chocolate chip cookies - winning at Old Maid - Slurpee shopping sprees - Frog hunting - Runaway cutter rides - building bird houses - sharing favorite cd's Memories I will cherish forever. Grandparents are so happy to see us, always interested in what we are doing and thinking. There's a special kind of love that grandchildren have for their grandparents. It's filled with respect for their wisdom and accomplishments ... with gratitude for the values they've given us ... with knowledge for the lessons they have taught us ... with courage for the strength they have shown ... and with delight in the stories of our family that they remember and share. It's a special kind of love that's built on a lifetime of caring and giving. This poem is written by Stacy Stevens: Grandparents are special people, with wisdom and pride. They are always offering love and kindness, and are always there to guide. They often make you feel so confident and strong. Their arms are always open --- no matter what you did wrong. They try to help out in every way that they can. They love all their grandchildren the same, whether you're a child, woman or man. They are always there to listen, and to lend a helping hand. They show you respect, and they try to understand. They give their love, devotion and so much more, that's easy to see. Grandparents: what perfect examples of the kind of person we should be! I personally have been truly blessed with grandparents; even my Great Grandma is here today to witness my accomplishment. For that I am grateful. Although some grandparents are unable to join us today, we know that together grandparents and grandchildren create a chain of love, linking the past with the future. The chain may lengthen, but it will never part. Thank you, Grandparents, for your support and encouragement in our journey. |
