Using a set of investigative tools carefully prepared by Mr. Phelps, the students observed the crime scene, collected clues, analyzed evidence, and eventually succeeded in confronting a suspect. ![]() ![]() ![]() The Crime Scene ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gathering Evidence ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Students compared shoe impressions found at the scene with a database of shoe prints ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() One piece of evidence seems to point to Mr. Carleton. Can you figure out which one? ![]() ![]() Students analyzed the ink from the ransom note using chromatography. ![]() ![]() They also analyzed the handwriting by comparing it to samples collected from likely suspects. ![]() ![]() ![]() Finally, they chose their most likely suspect and took his fingerprints, to compare with the one left on the ransom note. ![]() ![]() The suspect was confronted and charged with the crime! ![]() The first students to collect and analyze the evidence and identify the suspect were Taryn & Paige. ![]() ![]()
