"On November 22nd I chose two of our FNMI students to join me in a session at Fairview High School. The presenter at this session was an Aboriginal Elder from Saskatchewan named Campbell Papaquash. Campbell shared his history and traditional values with us and other students from Hines Creek Composite and Fairview High School.

During Campbell’s session some of the topics he shared with us were on the Aboriginals’ fight for survival, the history of the drum, the building and meaning of the tipi and the traditional uses of tobacco.

We were very honoured to join this session and learn from this Aboriginal Elder, and I would like to thank everyone who helped make this event a success for the First Nations, Métis and Inuit Program. I would also like to thank Leslie and Michael for joining in on this event, and listening and learning with us".
