On Monday, November 2 the grade 6/7 class came to the Kindergarten to share in learning and activities. The grade 6/7 class helped the Kindergarten students work in their journals and complete math sheets. After completing their activities, the Kindergarten students challenged the grade 6/7 students to a game of naming items. The question that was asked of the grade 6/7 class was to tell what three items had in common ( a clock, an audience and an arm) …. after much humming and hawing, they finally came up with “hand”.
Before returning to their classroom, the “big kids” played with the Kindergarten kids … building with blocks, legos and playdough.
The activity was planned as a way for the Kindergarten students to learn that they need not be intimidated by the bigger students in the school.
