To design a structure no more than 10 cm long in any dimension, that will protect a raw egg from damage if it is thrown 10 m into the air. |
Wednesday November 25, 1998, in the school parking lot. |
The Grade 9 Science class. |
Under rigidly controlled scientific conditions, the carefully designed and lovingly created structures are launched with precision into the air. (O.K., maybe not exactly with precision...) |
Not all the structures perform according to specifications. However, almost all of them manage to at least contain the mess. |
All these students created structures which protected their eggs from damage: Mark Carrell, Curtis Hayes, Nina Isaak, Alicia Mroch, Ricky Ruecker, Rod Shanks, Tyler Proctor, and Ben Stevenson Honourable Mentions: (minor cracks only) Jamie Bala, Christopher Kamieniecki |
