For this activity you'll need some blue and black construction paper, and various bright colours of tissue paper cut into squares, as well as fast-drying glue, and some scissors. Hers's what we're making:

The first step is to draw and cut out a tree using black construction paper. Glue this to the blue sheet. Students might find it easier to do the trunk separately from the branches; cutting out the branches might require sharp craft scissors. Don't use too much glue.

The petals are made from bunched up tissue paper. Use whatever colours you want; all pink flowers will make a stunning cherry tree!

A smaller version of this project mounted sideways on a folded sheet of card stock would make a beautiful card for someone.
