Matthew 28: 6-10 The resurrection of Jesus is an essential pillar of our faith as Christians. Without the resurrection we would be without hope. Christianity would crumble without this glorious truth. For it is through Him that we are saved. From angelic lips we learn: "He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. (v6) Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him." (v6-7) Then from Jesus' lips we hear: "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me." (v10) When Jesus met with his disciples, He told them: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." This then is the Great Commission, and there is a message there for us as well ... Jesus expects us to spread the Word! |
