 
The Border Collie dog breed was developed to gather and control sheep in the hilly border country between Scotland and England.They’re known for the intense stare with which they control their flock. They have unlimited energy, stamina, and working drive, all of which make them one of the best herding dogs, and are still used today for that purpose. The dog of medium size, and widely considered to be the most intelligent dog breed. Border Collies are very demanding, playful, and energetic. They thrive best in households that can provide them with plenty of play and exercise, either with humans or other dogs. 
Their coat is most often black with a white blaze on the face, neck, feet, legs, and tail tip. Sometimes they have black freckles on their white nose fur.Males stand up to 56 centimetres tall and can weigh up to 20 kilograms. Females are a little smaller and lighter. Border Collies are highly trainable and intelligent, and excel in various canine sports including obedience, flyball, agility, tracking, and Frisbee competitions. They make great family companions, so long as they get a lot of physical and mental exercise. Watching a Border Collie at work, with its ability to stare down even the largest sheep, is awe-inspiring. The dog has been bred as a herding dog, which means he has an overwhelming urge to gather a flock, which could be sheep, children, cats, squirrels, a basketball, or anything that moves!  A Border Collie is a wonderful dog to have as a companion. His intelligence and tractable nature make him easy to train. He’s sensitive, and has an uncanny ability to know what you’re going to ask him to do before you even ask it. If he is well socialized and trained from puppyhood, he can adapt to almost any living situation that provides the mental and physical exercise he requires. And prepare yourself to be outsmarted by him once in a while! |
