Create your own bridge design. Possible options include arches, suspensions, trusses or a composite (a combination of any of these). Remember that trusses made from triangles are very strong.
Create a preliminary design on graph paper. Show additional close-up views of critical areas.
Then neatly draw your bridge to scale on a piece of construction paper using a ruler.
Label your bridge with features that provide strength. Hand in this sheet so the teacher can approve it, and assign a mark.
Now begin construction. Build the sides first, then the center truss. Attach them together when they are fully built, and dry.
