This amazing young man, barely twenty, was an experienced flight crew member who had survived 29 hazardous bombing runs over occupied France. His last mission should have seen him return to Canada; instead, it caused his death.

What was once just a picture sitting on a piano is now the portrait of someone I know a little better. His bravery was astonishing. This pilot-officer was by mother's brother, and my uncle, and I am proud of him

World War II has always been a subject that has fascinated me; I have read widely about that war, but never before have I felt such a connection to it. And as the title of these pages describes it, I have finally found my connection to Remembrance Day ... a connection that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
