Buckingham Palace


Buckingham Palace has served as the official London residence of Britain's Royal Family since 1837. You can visit the official site of Buckingham Palace here. Originally it was a town house owned by the Dukes of Buckingham. Today it is the King's official residence. Areas of Buckingham Palace are open to visitors; the Palace is also used for official events held by the King.

The visitors' areas of the Palace are 'lavishly furnished with treasures from the Royal Collection - paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, and Vermeer; sculpture by Canova and Chantrey, and some of the finest English and French furniture in the world.
