VISCOSITY
by Derek

Viscosity is the resistance to flow of a liquid. There are a lot of liquids in the world, and they all have a different viscosity. Viscosity is a measure of the thickness of a liquid. For example, oil is thicker than water, therefore oil is more viscous than water. Oil is more viscous than water because oil flows slower than water.

Some liquids are useful because of their specific viscosity. For example, oil has to have a certain viscosity so that it lubricates an engine correctly.
