ADAPTATIONS The Lizard by Mandy Lizard adaptations: Some are able to regenerate lost body parts, like a tail, when it has been separated. Some have a long sticky tongue to snatch food; it can sometimes stretch the length of their body. Lizards have strong, thin, sharp claws to help escape by climbing trees quickly away from predators. Some don't need to drink water for long periods; this helps lizards that live in the desert. Some have the ability to change their body colour to that of the surroundings, to hide from predators.
