ADAPTATIONS
The Lizard
by Mandy

Lizard adaptations:
  • Some are able to regenerate lost body parts, like a tail, when it has been separated.
  • Some have a long sticky tongue to snatch food; it can sometimes stretch the length of their body.
  • Lizards have strong, thin, sharp claws to help escape by climbing trees quickly away from predators.
  • Some don't need to drink water for long periods; this helps lizards that live in the desert.
  • Some have the ability to change their body colour to that of the surroundings, to hide from predators.
