The Exponent Key


The exponent key ^ allows you to work out any power.

For example:
25   would be entered as  2^5
Press 'ENTER' to get the answer 32.

You can use this key to get the power of any number to any exponent.

For example:
(-3)4    would be entered as  (-3)^4
Press 'ENTER' to get the answer 81.

Another example:
(2/3)2    would be entered as  (2/3)^2
Press 'ENTER' to get the answer 0.44444444444

Notice the use of brackets to enter negative numbers and fractions.
In addition, you can also make the calculator give you a reduced fraction instead of a decimal in the last example.
