The Radius

The radius is the shorter of the two forearm bones (the other is the ulna). The radius is the bone on the thumb side of the arm.

The top of the radius joins with the ulna to make a hinge joint with the humerus at the elbow. The bottom of the radius meets with the bottom of the ulna to make a joint with the wrist bones.

Various muscles and tendons attach to the radius to control movement of itself and the wrist.
