Our Science Fair took place on Tuesday April 4th. All students from grades 5 through 10 participated, and the quality of the entries was very good again this year. As you will see, some of the projects were extremely well done.
Our thanks to Mr. Willis for organizing the Fair, and to all our judges for their time and effort.
Students competed in the categories of Engineering, Display & Research, and Experiments, as well as by grade level in categories 5/6, 7/8, & 9/10. All students were given class time to plan and research their projects, beginning in October, and will receive a mark which will be applied to their final Science mark.
Both Second and First Place winners were chosen in each of the six categories; a 'Best at Fair'award was also given.

Our Judges:
Back Row: J.R., Scott, Josh, Jessica, Mandy, teacher Owen Fleming. Front Row: Kenneth, Joann, Kamie, school counsellor Taunya Frank, Mandy, and Eyvind.
Science fair coordinator Bill Willis also acted as a judge.
Student judges who had brothers or sisters in the Fair did not judge in that grade level category; similarly, Mr. Willis did not judge any grade 5/6 entries.
Every project was visited by two different judges and the marks were averaged. First and second place winners were determined solely on marks (although some projects had to be judged a third and fourth time to determine second place). The 'Best at Fair' project was determined by a committee of the judges.
