![]() These pages contain many images, most of which were obtained from an electron microscope rather than a light microscope. A light microscope typically can magnify images anywhere from 40 to 1000 times, whereas an electron microscope can magnify images many tens of thousands of times! It is not our intent to mislead; we are just trying to illustrate some of the wonderful things that can be seen in microscopes of various kinds! We would also like to point out that many of the images have been artificially coloured in order to make the various parts stand out. If you would like to learn more about electron microscopes and see more great slides, visit our 'Scanning Electron Microscope' pages right here on our site. |
