The Clavicles

The clavicle is the collarbone. There are two of these curved bones, one on each side of the neck. They join the top of the sternum (breastbone) to the scapula (shoulder blade). The clavicles support the arms and transmit force from the arms into the central skeleton.

Because of its exposed position, the clavicle is one of the most-often broken bones, usually due to sports injuries.
