Just as with multiplication, numbers and radicals are divided or reduced separately.
Sometimes there will be a little simplifying afterwards:
Here 16 divides by 8, and both radicals divide by √2: ![]() Notice that the answer still has a radical left, but it's in the denominator. When this happens, we have to continue simplifying using a technique called Rationalizing the Denominator, which we're dealing with separately.
